Portrait Study

Although this took several hours and I struggled quite a bit, I got there in the end and even enjoyed the process. For the majority of the image, I mainly used the MB Hard Round brush to get the main values down and then the MB Soft Round brush to soften the edges. Simple enough in theory, but quite tricky to get right in practice, probably because I haven’t done many of these yet if I were to guess.

I also didn’t realise until afterwards that the reference image I was using wasn’t a photo, but another piece of digital artwork. The artist is Irakli Nadar. Incredible work.
