Spent about 10 minutes warming up with some pose sketches then about 40 minutes on this one. What took the most amount of time really was the subtleties of the face. The slightest misalignment and it soon looks nothing like the reference photo which is pretty annoying. The eyes were a simple fix as mine before were obviously too slanted up (at least the left one was) and too high, but the lips took several attempts to get right as I’m not great when teeth get involved. I also learned how difficult curly hair is to draw so I didn’t put much effort into getting it right this time but at least I’m aware of that now. I also added some solid colour to give it more contrast and I definitely would like to soon start adding some basic shading to my sketches as well as they always look a bit dull as they are like this one.
